Today kicked off the Drum Corps International World Championships in Indianapolis & Bloomington. I was over at the Convention Center for a press event this morning and — ohweee — they can rock! I took a few videos on my cell phone, but the sound is just awful, not at all what I actually heard. And since I forgot to recharge my camera after my Cedar Point trip [oops!]… I’m filling in this post with some photos one of my colleagues snapped. She’s a much more talented photographer than yours truly anyhow, so your treat!

The individual and ensemble competitions are happening here in Indy and the big show is down in Bloomington at Memorial Stadium, Thursday – Saturday this week. [It'll all happen in Indy next year when Lucas Oil Stadium is open!!]

They took on some local personalities [and mascots too] in a drum off. It was a close competition, or not.
