I told you I’d love it. And I did. This past weekend was Heroes & Victors at Symphony on the Prairie. We packed a picnic and arrived an hour before show time to set up our blanket. The Symphony performed theme songs from great sports movies, and showed movie clips via large screens on either side of the stage. Indianapolis Colt Hunter Smith made an appearance too, conducting the symphony for a song. While I have sneaky suspicion the symphony was not looking to Smith for musical guidance, the concert goers were entertained by his theatrics! The evening finished with a fireworks show too, my favorite. What a fun night!
I recommend taking your food and beverages [alcohol is permitted] and arrive early to set up your area. We took a mancala game along and played while we ate. Of course, concessions are available if you like.

I just found a link to your blog while reading an old email from IndyDT. Love it! My husband and I attended this concert too and really enjoyed Hunter Smith. We have not been to SOTP for a long time but the sports theme of this concert drew us back. The fireworks were a nice surprise!
